NewsRufus Wainwright played tribute to Judy Garland at Oxegen Festival today (July 8).The singer played two songs by the legend- 'A Foggy Day In London Town' and 'If Love Were All'-accompanied by a pianist. He introduced the tracks by saying: "We're going to do two Judy Garland songs, just to give you all a break." Commenting on the fact that the sun had come out after the rain, Wainwright said, after playing 'Between My Legs': "The sun always comes out when I play here. I'm the cloud of global warming. Fuck global warming." The singer played a traditional Irish song 'Macushlah' and introduced it by saying: "I'm going to do something I've never done before at a festival- I'm going to play a traditional Irish song. My mother Kate, Kate the great, made me sing it." He played: 'Release The Stars' 'Sanssouci' 'Rules and Regulations' 'A Foggy Day In London Town' 'If Love Were All' 'The Art Teacher' 'Going To Town' 'Between My Legs' 'I'm Not Ready To Love' 'Slideshow' 'Macushlah' 'Gay Messiah' The Pigeon Detectives kick off UK tour The Pigeon Detectives kicked off their mammoth UK tour last night (October 10) in Belfast's Mandela Hall, debuting a new song entitled 'Emergency'. The band played a selection of fan favourites such as 'I'm Not Sorry', 'I Found Out' and 'Romantic Type' as well as a handful of b-sides and their new song, inducing mass dancing and singing amongst the sold out crowd. The band now head out to continue their biggest UK tour to date.
